Summary
Sales woman Wang Xiaoyan, born on September 20th 1971, Chinese member of the Buddhist meditation school Falun Gong, was arrested by the police in front her apartment house entrance door in the seaport Dalian, province Liaoning, on May 27th 2006 and sent to the remand prison Yaojia/Dalian. In her apartment the police confiscated her computer, mobile phone and handouts on Falun Gong.
On July 12th 2006 she was transferred to the Masanjia labour camp where she is exposed to systematic torture. There has been no warrant of arrest and no accusation was brought in. No trial has taken place; she was sentenced to two years of "re-education by labour" and is not allowed to appeal to court.
Mrs. Wang is married but her husband could avert arrest. He lives as asylum seeker in Leipzig and studies at the university. Their daughter, born in 1998, lives with her husband's parents.
Mrs. Wang had already been arrested twice for the distribution of handouts on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and is now being imprisoned twice in the Masanjia forced labour camp where she is exposed to systematic torture. Her family is seriously concerned about her life.
In November 2006 a letter of Mrs. Wang could be smuggled out of the labour camp. Her husband fighting for his wife's release asked ISHR (International Society for Human Rights) for publication. In the following you can find the English translation of the secret message.
Mrs. Wang's secret message from the detention camp
When I went to work in the morning of May 27th 2006 I was arrested by three policemen who had already been waiting for me in front of the building.
One of them was the representative chief of the police station Chunhai, district
Zhongshan, city Dalian of the province Liaoning. At last they ransacked my dwelling, the damage was extreme.The same evening I was sent to the remand prison Yaojia, sentenced to two years of "re-education by labour" and transferred to the Masanjia labour camp on July 12th.
As I practised the Falun Gong exercises and shouted "Falun Dafa is good", I was handcuffed to the bed for one and a half month. At that time when I was in the ground floor policeman Wang Xiaofeng plugged a dirty rag into my mouth; Li Mingyu slapped me in the face; Wang Naimin bruised my lips. On July 15th it became even worse: the two chiefs Ma Jishan and Chen hit me in the face with their fists to the extent that my right cheek was very swollen. Even now my cheekbones are swollen; the strokes are not healed yet.
At that time the 1st brigade was already suspended. In the 2nd brigade were still more than 60 Falun Gong practitioners who did not let themselves be "re-educated". In the 3rd brigade even more than 140 practitioners were "re-educated" by force.
Starting from August 30th the guards of the labour camp became very violent. They maltreated us one after the other through various ways of torture and forced us to write "three declarations".
I was tied on a bunk bed in a stretched position; one hand was tied on the highest place and the other one on the lowest place - for three days. I was neither allowed to sleep nor to wash. I could neither stand nor sit down. This position was very painful. I have kept up three days and nights.
Ma Jishan and Liu Yong (both are very vicious) tied me again on a "deathbed" and Cao Jie infused a drug which attacks the central nervous system into my mouth three times a day. Each time Ma Jishan used a crowbar and opened my mouth as far as possible which was very painful. I felt I would prefer to die than to live.
I couldn't stand all that making me write the "three declarations" against my will. Other fellow practitioners also underwent various physical punishments and torture and had finally written the "three declarations" against their will.
But we don't acknowledge these claims and are keeping our faith in our hearts.
After we 62 Falun Gong practitioners had been tortured we were locked up on the first floor of the ancient 1st brigade and divided into three groups, 20 people each.I was allocated to the second group. They forced us every day to make gymnastics, learn "30 directions" by heart and sing heretical songs of China's Communist Party. Who ever refused to do one of these three things was hauled away and tortured. Gradually the term of imprisonment of some practitioners had finished. The policemen forced them to write "three declarations" again - otherwise they would not be released but tortured furthermore.
We hope that the outside world and Falun Gong practitioners who are not imprisoned call these vicious policemen by phone to reduce the persecution against us.

She was hauled away and maltreated by the torture of "stretching" one day and one night. When she returned she had deep cuts on her wrists caused by the handcuffs. As Ms. Wang Baokun shouted "Falun Gong is good" she was also tortured one day and one night so that both her hands and feet were swollen.Ms. Zhang Liyan from the city Dandong refused to sign on the check list.
Thereupon she was hung up, beaten and cursed at. In the morning she was brought away and came back not before midnight after having been forced to sign with her name. Ms. Chen Honglan from Benxi underwent similar abuses and was severely beaten by Liu Yong. Ms. Qiu Li from Fushen didn't cooperate and was therefore frequently abused. The guards here hardly have humanity within themselves.I stay firm in my faith.

Practitioners are forced under brainwashing and torture to write declarations:
that they abandon their faith
a commitment to regret
and a declaration of assuring to never practice Falun Gong again
Furthermore the victims must provide a list with names and addresses of all their family members, friends and acquaintances who are also Falun Gong practitioners.
