ISHR Sweden has for many years been engaged in ALMEDAL WEEK, a yearly meeting-point for politicians, NGOs and corperations on the capital town of Gotland, Visby. According to www.AlmedalsVeckan.info, there were over 10,000 visitors under the last week of June 2023.

China issues has been av great interest. ISHR Sweden arranged public seminars as well as manifestations with witnesses persecuted in China. We had many meetings with politicians, government members, diplomats, NGOs and media.

China-Seminar with Great Interactions

At the University of Uppsala, Campus Gotland, ISHR Sweden arranged the seminar “Money or Life – China-politics, an issue of Economy VS Security?” on 30th of June. The interest on the topic was very high, about 40 attendees, almost filled up the whole meeting room. Lively discussions continued, and the seminar was held 1,5 hours!

Mr. Manyan Ng from IGFM, one of the leading China-Experts in Europe was invited to talk. He has a background of Global Business and Sales, born in Hong Kong, as well as his decades of engagement on Human Rights in China. He gave the audience a vivid picture of Chinese Communist Party’s history, human rights violations, tyranny on its people, as well as warfare and infiltrating in other countries/areas.

We believe that knowledge makes changes!

Manifestations to Stop the Forced Organ Harvesting on Prisoners of Conscience in China

ISHR Sweden has coorperated with the local Falun Gong association to arrange daily lunch-manifestations at the heart of Visby during the whole week of Almedalen.

Every day, thousands of people went through our manifestations, listened to the interviews with several witness who were persecuted in China: Mr. Yiming Fan, a silver medalist of the Chinese International Oil Paiting Competition was detained before the Olympics in Beijing 2008, together with his wife, while their son was just 7 year old; Mrs. Min Liu, a Chemical engineer was repeated inprisoned in Beijing; Dr. Bin Kong, inprisoned in Beijing. All becouse they practiced Falun Gong. They repeated the same stories of brutal tortures – mentally and physically – at one side, on the other side many mystiouse health controlls while they were inprisoned.

Forced Organ Harvesting was first exposed in 2006, by two Canadian Human Rights fighters, David Matas and David Kilgour, in their investigation and report called Bloody Harvest – the killing of Falun Gong for their organs. They call it “an unprecedented evil on this planet”.

Falun Gong is a traditional meditation and spiritual practice that started in China in the early 1990, and has been persecuted in China since 1999 due to the number of practitioners becoming larger than the Communist Party members.

Today, 17 years has passed since this crime was exposed, how is it now?
Well, according to an update of the situation in the Final Judgement from The China Tribunal, that there are no signs showing the crime is less scaled. Furthermore, even more groups are targeted now, including Uyghurs, Tibetan Buddhists, and House Church Christians.

The tribunal stated that the situation is alarming.

“Thank you for repeating these important issues every year!”

Several Swedish Parliament members listened to the manifestations, came up to talk to us and thanked for our work. Many politicians, including the Prime Minister of Sweden, diplomats and NGO passed by or listened to the talks on lunchtime.

Two young girls stayed an hour with the whole manifestation, they were deeply touched: “We saw you earlier years, at least twice. But somehow, we did not care or hade time to listen to you. Now, it feels important that we took what you have to say to heart! Thank you for repeating these important issues”!

Killing a fellow human for harvesting their organs – on an industrial scale – is violating the Human Rights for their organs and lives, it is also a shame for Human Dignety.

This crime must be stopped, and condamned. Together, we can do it.
