“While growing up I have seen my mom go through tough times—and some, she never wanted us to notice—but I haven’t seen her give up…I guess it’s not in her blood and it’s always beautiful to see her bounce back stronger and I learned this from her.

I have watched my mom juggle between her teaching job, farming, and selling provisions in her small shop just to make sure that we got whatever we deserved.  And time without numbers, I have seen her give from the little she had and she does this not because she has much but because she knows how it feels to have none. What a rare trait from someone who had witnessed firsthand lack in her childhood.”

My message of empowerment:

As a woman, a mother, and a role model, your mindset, kindness, compassion, generosity, and selflessness have inspired me to be a better person and also shaped me into the person I am today. I pray that our good Lord will keep you alive and healthy to reap the fruits of your labour in me and my siblings. Amen!
