Abduction
Even in the early days of the war, Oleksandr began volunteering to help other villagers by buying medicine and food and delivering it to those in need. On March 2, 2022, Oleksandr was at home with his friends. At that moment, Russian soldiers broke into the house, beat Oleksandr and his friends, and conducted an illegal house search. The soldiers then forced Oleksandr into their car and took him to an unknown location.
According to eyewitness accounts, Russian soldiers accused Oleksandr of photographing the movement of Russian military equipment and passing this information on to Ukrainian soldiers.
At the end of March, Oleksandr was taken to Russia. He was initially detained in Detention Centre No. 2 in the city of Novosybkov (Bryansk Region).
Since May 2023, it has been known that Oleksandr is being held in the city of Pakino (Vladimir Region), presumably in Penal Colony No. 7.
