Serhii is from Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia Region, and is a thermal energy engineer. Before his abduction, he worked as a shift supervisor in the turbine department of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Abduction

On July 18, 2023, Russian military personnel abducted Serhii and illegally searched his apartment. They took his cell phone, computer, credit cards, apartment keys, and all his documents. It was later revealed that all funds had been withdrawn from Serhii’s credit cards.

Serhii was initially held at the police station in Enerhodar. He was then transferred to the city of Vasylivka (Zaporizhzhia region), where a show trial without a verdict was held against him for alleged minor offences. After the trial, Serhii was moved from Vasylivka to the village of Velyka Biloserka (Zaporizhzhia region).

Serhii was scheduled for release on May 26, 2024. However, this did not happen, and he was transferred again on June 6, 2024, this time to Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region). Since then, his family has had no information about his whereabouts.
