Ukrainians in need in their own country

Reduction of UN aid in war-torn areas with noticeable consequences

The surprising and selfish shutdown of most USAID aid programs and the massive reduction in support for UN aid programs by the stroke of a pen by Donald Trump also affects Ukraine.

The members of the ISHR Ukraine section were an integral part of the UN supply chain for over two years, guaranteeing regular support to those seeking aid in remote locations along the battle lines. The section has focused particularly on assisting elderly and disabled citizens in need and families with young children. However, since the UN programs ended, the section has been forced to reduce its aid. And with that, the need is increasing. While our politicians and those of other European countries are seeking ways to cover the billions of euros in military expenditures, the German section of the ISHR has just delivered the 24th transport since the beginning of the war, carrying 200 packages of various relief supplies, from Frankfurt to Kyiv.
