Detained in a penal colony without charge

Before his imprisonment in Russia, Viktor worked at the Mariupol steelworks.
Abduction
On March 19, 2022, armed Russian soldiers broke into Viktor’s house. They searched the house and asked him about weapons. After checking his identification and threatening him with weapons, they took Viktor away. Viktor’s family was promised that he would be home that evening. However, he never returned.
After tireless investigations, Viktor’s family discovered that he was imprisoned in the penal colony in Volnovakha (Donetsk Region) and then transferred to Penal Colony Kalinin No. 27 in Horlivka (Donetsk Region). Viktor is currently being held in Penal Colony No. 28 in Toret (Donetsk Region).
Viktor Ponomarenko is an innocent Ukrainian civilian. To this day, his family does not know what he is accused of.
