Nairobi: Second International Visit of the Year 2023 (Africa)

Our President; Archbishop Prof. Dr. theol. Dr. phil. Thomas Schirrmacher and S.G, Matthias Boehning are on an African Tour as they meet and visit key partners and stakeholders on the Continent.

The International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) and its national branches are independent non-governmental human rights organisations (NGOs) which base their work on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations on December 10, 1948. The ISHR seeks to promote international understanding and tolerance in all areas of culture and society. It is a non-profit organisation, independent of all political parties, governments or religious groups.The ISHR acts on the philosophy that the realization of human rights and the improvement of social conditions cannot be pursued through use of force.

The International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) is represented through national sections and groups in over 40 countries worldwide.
These are affiliated civil society organizations consisting largely of volunteer human rights defenders who all share the ISHR’s committment to defending the UN-UDHR in their home countries and/or abroad.

Our S.G met with our Partner Dr Iyad Abumoghli, principal coordinator of the Faith For Earth coalition at United Nations Environment Programme.

Matthias met with Joe Bonga, head of Africa 4 SDGs and prospective WEA ‘s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Nairobi.

Interested in our membership?

ISHR membership is obtained through membership in a national section. Separation from a national section terminates membership in the Society. Payment of a member fee is an obligation to the relevant national section.
