IGFM Annual General Meeting 2024

Cordial invitation to the 52nd annual meeting:

War in Europe Advocating for Human Rights – Now More Than Ever

April 20th/21st 2024 • Gustav-Stresemann-Institut, Langer Grabenweg 68, 53175 Bonn

Dear members and friends of the International Society for Human Rights!

On behalf of the Board of the IGFM, I would like to cordially invite you to our 52nd Annual General Meeting.

We are delighted to welcome prominent speakers such as Lev Ponomaryov, co-founder of the Russian human rights organization “Memorial” and former member of the Duma, and Karinna Moskalenko, Armenian-Russian lawyer before the European Court of Human Rights.

For obvious reasons, the focus of our conference this year is on Eastern Europe, where the Putin-Russian war against Ukraine is entering its eleventh year. We have therefore invited speakers from some of the countries most threatened by Russia. We are also paying particular attention to Armenia, the oldest Christian country in the world, whose very existence is under threat. Iran, where the human rights situation has deteriorated dramatically over the past year, is another focus.

We also warmly invite you to the General Assembly of the IGFM – German Section e.V. with reports and further greetings (see separate agenda).

Dear friends, the annual conference is the most important event of the IGFM, where members, sponsors and interested parties meet and exchange ideas with the board and staff. Please support us by attending in large numbers! I look forward to seeing you again in Bonn.

Yours,

Edgar Lamm
Chairman, IGFM – German Section e.V
